Jenise Moen, director of marketing, and Leah Baus, creative scout and social media, had a fun and exciting time in New York City May 14-18, for BluePrint, Surtex and The National Stationery Show.
Although it was a quick trip, they accomplished so much in such a little amount of time. It has taken several days to recap the pile of notes, reach out to contacts, organize new art for existing and upcoming projects and share the excitement with colleagues. In all, it was well worth the trip and Open Road Brands looks forward to all the new opportunities ahead.
A few trip highlights include:
- Meeting with existing licensors and making new contacts. Open Road Brands loves consistently working with a solid group of licensors and artists as well as finding a few new gems along the way. In total Jenise and Leah met with close to 30 existing licensors and new contacts in four days.
- Spotting Trends! Everyone they met with had wonderful market insights, new art to showcase and fresh takes on trending icons, themes and colors. They even dropped by retail stores Anthropologie and West Elm that were right around the corner from their hotel.
- Taking in the sites. The trip consisted of a full four days of meetings, but they still managed to squeeze in a few iconic touristic stops. The two attended a Jersey Boys Broadway show, shopped in Times Square, visited the 9/11 Memorial and World One Tower, went on a walking tour of Rockefeller Center and enjoyed some New York City food including pizza.
